Flag-raising ceremony, reception mark HKSAR's 29th anniversary

A flagship flag-raising ceremony was held on Wednesday morning at Golden Bauhinia Square outside the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC) in Wan Chai to mark the 29th anniversary of the establishment of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR).

Chief Executive (CE) John Lee Ka-chiu, HKSAR government officials, community leaders, and members of uniformed groups attended the ceremony.

The Police Band performed at the event, while a choir from Belilios Public School and Queen’s College sang the national anthem under the lead of singers Albert Lim and Vivian Yau. The program continued with a fly-past and a sea parade by the disciplined services.

Following the ceremony, a reception led by the chief executive was held at the HKCEC.

In addition to the main ceremony at Golden Bauhinia Square, a separate flag-raising ceremony was held at the Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in the HKSAR. That ceremony was led by Zhou Ji, the director of the liaison office.
