A dazzling fireworks display illuminated the night sky of Hong Kong's Victoria Harbour on Wednesday evening in celebration of the 76th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China.
Themed "Victoria Harbour Fireworks Shine Across the Motherland", the fireworks extravaganza began at 8 pm and lasted approximately 23 minutes, with more than 30,000 fireworks shells launched into the skies.
The pyrotechnics were divided into eight scenes, each with its own characteristics. Its climax in the grand finale featured flourishes of golden, silver and red fireworks streaking across the harbor night sky, expressing best wishes for the prosperity and strength of the great motherland and for Hong Kong's prosperity and stability.
Hours before the show, the Tsim Sha Tsui promenade was already crowded with residents and tourists securing spots to witness the fireworks.
China Daily photographers Adam Lam and DJ Clark captured the splendid moments.
