The Hong Kong Special Administrative Region recorded over 1.29 million visitor arrivals from the Chinese mainland during the first seven days of this year’s National Day Golden Week holiday, according to the SAR government's Immigration Department.

As the holiday drew to a close on Wednesday, tourists from the mainland started preparing for their journey back home, concluding the eight-day break for the National Day and Mid-Autumn Festival celebrations.
