Four giant Zigong lanterns, themed on "Hong Kong fairies", are on display at the waterfront park of the West Kowloon Cultural District until Oct 2, showcasing the beauty of Chinese culture against the backdrop of the Victoria Harbour skyline.

Originating from the Sichuan city of Zigong, Zigong lanterns are a nationally recognized intangible cultural heritage known for their large scale, exquisite craftsmanship, and vibrant artistic expression.

Zixia, the largest of the four lanterns, stands 12.8 meters tall. During the day, the event features Hanfu (traditional Chinese dress) shows, dance performances, and other garden party activities celebrating Chinese culture.

The National Day holiday celebration is organized by Bauhinia Culture Holdings Ltd, China Tourism Group, the Democratic Alliance for the Betterment and Progress of Hong Kong, and the Hong Kong Cultural and Arts Sector National Day Preparatory Committee.
