Hong Kong bagged two bronze medals at the 20th Asian Games Aichi-Nagoya 2026 on Monday — one in the Triathlon Mixed Relay event and one in Men's Individual Kata event — bringing the total number of medals in this tournament to five, and placing the team sixth in the overall medal tally.

Hong Kong karateka Howard Hung Ho-wai defeated Malaysia's Mohamad Haznil Henry 5–0 in the men's individual kata bronze medal match, securing the first medal won by a Hong Kong male athlete in the Asian Games individual kata event and the second medal for the Hong Kong karate team at this year's Games. Grace Lau Mo-sheung won a silver medal in the women's individual kata event on Sunday.

After the match, Hung said that he made tactical adjustments during the competition and described his performance as getting better and better.

The Triathlon Mixed Relay event featured 14 teams, each composed of two male and two female athletes. The Hong Kong team, consisting of Cade Cameron Wright, Oscar Coggins, Bailee Brown, and Robin Elg, finished with a time of 1 hour, 27 minutes, and 25 seconds. Each triathlete had to complete all three disciplines, namely swimming, cycling, and running.

The gold and silver medals of the event were won by China and Japan, respectively.

The Hong Kong team won bronze in the Triathlon Mixed Relay event at the previous two Asian Games.

The team and Hung will earn HK$500,000 ($63,730) and HK$250,000, respectively, under the Jockey Club Athletes Incentive Awards Scheme.

The Hong Kong delegation numbers about 580 athletes who will compete in 38 events at the 20th Asian Games running from Saturday to Oct 4; many of them are expected to win medals, including racing cyclist Ceci Lee Sze-wing and fencing stars Cheung Ka-long and Ryan Choi.
