Temperatures will fall appreciably to about 16 degrees Celsius at Saturday midnight before dropping to 14 degrees Celsius on Sunday morning, said the HKO.

Warning that it will still be cool on Monday morning, the forecaster advised residents to keep warm and take care of the elderly and persons with chronic medical conditions.

With the monsoon moderating midweek next week, temperatures will rise gradually, it added.

Meanwhile, temperatures over inland Guangdong generally fell to 16 degrees or below on Saturday afternoon, the observatory said, adding that a broad band of clouds is bringing a few rain patches to Guangdong.
