
HONG KONG – The minimum temperatures in Hong Kong’s urban areas will be around 14 degrees Celsius on Sunday morning, and it will be cold over parts of the New Territories, according to the city’s weather forecaster.
A strong northeast monsoon associated with a cold front is affecting the coastal areas of Guangdong, the Hong Kong Observatory said in a 4:20 pm bulletin on Saturday.
“It will be windy over Hong Kong. There will be one or two rain patches tonight (Saturday night). Temperatures will fall appreciably,” the bulletin reads.
At 5:30 pm on Saturday, Wong Chuk Hang recorded the lowest temperature at 7 degrees Celsius. Lamma Island recorded 11 degrees while Tuen Mun and Tseung Kwan O 12 degrees Celsius at the time.

Temperatures will fall appreciably to about 16 degrees Celsius at Saturday midnight before dropping to 14 degrees Celsius on Sunday morning, said the HKO.
Warning that it will still be cool on Monday morning, the forecaster advised residents to keep warm and take care of the elderly and persons with chronic medical conditions.
With the monsoon moderating midweek next week, temperatures will rise gradually, it added.
Meanwhile, temperatures over inland Guangdong generally fell to 16 degrees or below on Saturday afternoon, the observatory said, adding that a broad band of clouds is bringing a few rain patches to Guangdong.
