Amid the ongoing influenza season and the return of thousands of students to classrooms across Hong Kong last week, health authorities are urging the public to receive their influenza vaccinations promptly.

The Centre for Health Protection (CHP) of the Department of Health (DH) has announced the commencement of the 2026/27 Seasonal Influenza Vaccination (SIV) Programmes on Sept 17.

These initiatives include the SIV School Outreach Programme (SIVSOP), the Residential Care Home Vaccination Programme, and the Vaccination Subsidy Scheme (VSS), all designed to safeguard the health of individuals and their families. Eligible individuals can access free or subsidized vaccinations through these initiatives.
