WASHINGTON/TEHRAN/KUWAIT CITY – US forces have completed another round of strikes against Iran, and more than 50,000 US troops in the Middle East "remain highly vigilant," US Central Command (CENTCOM) said on Saturday.
"During the eighth consecutive night of US strikes, CENTCOM forces successfully hit Iranian military coastal surveillance and air defense facilities, maritime capabilities, and missile and drone storage sites to continue degrading Iranian military capabilities," CENTCOM said in a post on social media platform X.
The US military also targeted Iran's Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC) forces that "launched attacks against US service members in Jordan on July 17," the command said.
"More than 50,000 US men and women in uniform are operating across the Middle East. They remain highly vigilant, focused, lethal, and ready," it added.
Early on Saturday, the command said that two US service members were killed and one remains missing after a strike on a base in Jordan on Friday.
The deaths bring the total number of US military personnel killed to 16 since the United States and Israel launched attacks on Iran on Feb 28.
Iran's supreme leader: Violation of MoU proves Trump's signature worthless
Iranian Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei said on Saturday that the US violation of a recently signed peace memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Iran once again proved that US President Donald Trump's signature is worthless and invalid, according to Iranian media.
He made the remarks in a message to the Iranian people carried by Iranian media, in which he addressed the country's important issues.
Khamenei said the frequent US violations of the MoU, which was signed by Iran's President Masoud Pezeshkian and Trump on June 18, "once again proved to everyone the fact that how worthless and invalid the US president's signature is."
The United States had "once again revealed its true and unmasked face," he said, noting that "this dark experience of crime and breach of promises is another solid proof of the US lying and its illogical, unreliable, and evil nature."

Khamenei warned that if the United States continued what he described as warmongering and sought to impose heavier costs, it should expect "unforgettable lessons" from Iran and the resistance front.
The remarks came amid heightened regional tensions despite the MoU, under which the United States and Iran were expected to hold negotiations within 60 days toward a final agreement.
The United States has conducted multiple rounds of strikes against Iran in recent days, while Iran has responded by launching retaliatory attacks on US bases and facilities in the region.

Earlier on Saturday, Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for Legal and International Affairs Kazem Gharibabadi said Iran has ceased fulfilling its obligations under the MoU with the United States, accusing Washington of violating its commitments under the deal.
In an interview with state-run IRIB TV, Gharibabadi said the United States has effectively violated or suspended "all its commitments" under the MoU, stressing that Iran is now focused on defending itself, and there is "no news of negotiations."
"What we are currently faced with is defending the country in a decisive manner," he said. "This time too, the Americans have already received their answer that these aggressive actions will lead nowhere. If they are wise, they should choose other solutions."
US bases in Kuwait, Bahrain, Jordan hit in retaliatory strikes
Also on Saturday, the Iranian armed forces announced that they had hit US bases in Kuwait, Bahrain and Jordan in waves of retaliatory missile and drone attacks launched earlier in the day.
The IRGC pointed to the recent US "destructive" attacks against Iranian civilian infrastructure, which resulted in civilian casualties, and warned countries in West Asia hosting US military bases that they would face retaliation.

The IRGC said Saturday that its ground forces targeted the US military support center at Camp Arifjan in Kuwait, killing several US personnel. It also targeted the Ali Al Salem Air Base in Kuwait with drones, destroying a radar, a weapons depot and a hangar of drones.
The IRGC added that its naval forces on Saturday struck a US Navy fuel support pier at Al Ahmadi port and a signal and communications center in Kuwait.
In a separate statement, Iran's army said that it has also hit US headquarters buildings and ammunition depots at Ali Al Salem Air Base, as well as an ammunition depot at Al-Adiri Camp, and several bridges in Kuwait.

In Bahrain, the IRGC said Saturday that it targeted a combat aircraft site at Shaikh Isa Air Base and destroyed a US data center, and struck an aircraft hangar, fuel storage facilities and several bridges.
The IRGC also targeted US fuel depots at the al-Azraq base in Jordan, adding that its naval forces on Friday fired cruise missiles at a "hostile" US vessel north of the Indian Ocean, forcing it to retreat.
In a statement released early Saturday, the IRGC said two oil tankers attempting to cross the Strait of Hormuz via the mined southern route suffered explosions and caught fire, adding they had been misled by US intelligence agencies.
The IRGC said that the strait remained closed and warned that oil, gas and chemical fertilizer exports would not resume while US attacks continued.
Kuwait: Iranian attacks hit key oil facility, causing injuries and damage
Meanwhile, Kuwait said on Saturday that one of its key oil sector facilities had come under "repeated Iranian attacks," which left multiple injuries and substantial material damage.
The Kuwait Petroleum Corporation said in a statement carried by the state news agency KUNA that the affected site had been evacuated as a precaution and the injured had received medical treatment.
The Kuwaiti army said Iranian attacks targeted military and security installations as well as vital civilian facilities in the oil, electricity, and water sectors in the country, triggering fires and causing "significant damage."

Kuwait International Airport temporarily suspended operations, prompting flight rescheduling, during the fresh strikes.
The Kuwait Fire Force said several firefighters and a civilian worker were injured while battling two fires at targeted sites.
Kuwait's Ministry of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy reported that an attack had struck a power generation and water desalination plant, triggering a fire and damaging several electricity generation units.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned the attacks as a "systematic and aggressive approach" and "heinous aggression" against Kuwait's sovereignty.
