Hong Kong to hold birthday parties for 6 giant pandas

HONG KONG - Ocean Park Hong Kong will hold birthday celebrations through the end of August for the six giant pandas it houses, the park said on Tuesday.

The twins, Jia Jia and De De, born in Hong Kong, will be two years old in August. Their parents Le Le and Ying Ying will turn 21 in the same month. An An and Ke Ke, whose birth months are both June, will also be part of the months-long bonanza.

The park said it will stage interactive games and performances in hopes of promoting awareness of animal welfare and boosting tourist visits.
