BEIJING - Chinese stocks closed higher on Wednesday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index up 0.11 percent to 4,110.81 points.
The Shenzhen Component Index closed 1.24 percent higher at 16,051.32 points.
The combined turnover of stocks covered by these two indices reached 3.28 trillion yuan (about 481 billion U.S. dollars), down by 156.4 billion yuan compared to the previous trading day.
Shares related to artificial intelligence computing and semiconductor led the gains, while the film and television consumption sector saw major declines.
The ChiNext Index, tracking China's Nasdaq-style board of growth enterprises, gained 1.41 percent to close at 4,251.42 points.
The STAR Composite Index, which reflects the performance of stocks on China's sci-tech innovation board, closed 2.8 percent higher at 2,342.64 points.
