Tsing Ma Bridge pileup causes injuries, traffic snarl
By Wang Zhan

A multi-vehicle collision on the Tsing Ma Bridge on Thursday morning left several people injured and caused severe traffic backups along a key route to the airport.

At approximately 8:27 am, at least 10 vehicles collided in the airport-bound lane of the Tsing Ma Bridge.

Preliminary information from authorities revealed that 10 people sustained minor injuries, while two individuals were trapped inside their vehicles and required urgent extraction by rescue teams. The collision has significantly disrupted traffic flow in the area, with tailbacks stretching as far as Sai Tso Wan.

In an alert issued at 10:46 am, the Transport Department stated that part of the airport-bound lanes of the Tsing Ma Bridge remained closed, with traffic queues extending to the Tsing Sha Highway near the Nam Wan Tunnel and the Tsing Yi North Coastal Road near the Cheung On Estate. Bus services traveling via the airport-bound lanes of the Tsing Ma Bridge have been affected, and the public is advised to use the MTR service.

In response, the MTR has enhanced the Airport Express and Tung Chung Line train services to facilitate passenger travel.
