World No 1 Wang Chuqin leads Chinese players into last 8 in Singapore Smash

SINGAPORE -- World No 1 Wang Chuqin led a group of Chinese players into the quarterfinals of the 2026 WTT Singapore Smash here on Thursday.

Wang beat Denmark's Anders Lind 3-1 in the men's singles event after a closely contested battle. He will next take on South Korea's Jang Woo-jin.

Fellow Chinese Lin Shidong defeated South Korea's Lim Jong-hoon 3-1 and is set to meet France's Felix Lebrun. His teammate Xiang Peng lost 3-0 to Chinese Taipei's Lin Yun-ju.

In the women's singles, Wang Manyu fought back from one set down to beat South Korea's Shin Yu-bin 3-1. She will face Japan's Miwa Harimoto in the quarterfinals. Wang Yidi advanced with a 3-1 win over Japan's Mima Ito while Chen Xingtong defeated Japan's Miyu Nagasaki 3-0 to reach the last eight.
