The Hong Kong Chiu Chow Chamber of Commerce held its Year of the Horse Spring Festival Gathering on Tuesday, bringing together community leaders and members to usher in the new year with joy and unity.

Winnie Ko Pui-shuen, president of the chamber, said that the horse symbolizes relentless momentum and an enterprising spirit, embodying the attitude to embrace in the year ahead.

"In the coming year, we will continue to approach our work with pragmatism and enterprise. We will also strengthen collaboration with friends from all sectors to achieve new heights," she said.

Clarence Leung Wang-ching, under secretary for Home and Youth Affairs of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region government, said that since its establishment in 1921, the chamber has consistently united the Chiu Chow community in Hong Kong, promoted mutual assistance and cooperation among Chiu Chow businesspeople, and fostered the development of local trade.

Entering 2026, the SAR government will formulate the city’s first five-year development blueprint to guide Hong Kong in fulfilling its dual roles as a super connector and super value-adder, actively aligning with the framework of the nation’s 15th Five-Year Plan (2026-2030), he added.
