122 people evacuated as smoke reported in S. Korean domestic flight

SEOUL - About 122 people were evacuated as smoke was reported in a domestic flight scheduled to fly from South Korea's Jeju to Pohang, Newsis News reported Friday.

The accident occurred on Jin Air Flight LJ436, which was scheduled to depart Jeju International Airport for Pohang-Gyeongju Airport at around 12:25 pm local time. Smoke was found to have entered the aircraft while passengers were boarding.

Jin Air conducted an inspection after passengers and crew were evacuated. It was reported that a malfunction occurred in the auxiliary power unit (APU) system.
