HONG KONG — The results of the eighth-term Legislative Council (LegCo) election were announced early Monday, with all 90 members of the new-term LegCo successfully elected.

During Sunday’s election, the voter turnout rates for the geographical constituencies, functional constituencies, and the Election Committee constituency reached 31.9 percent, 40.09 percent, and 99.45 percent, respectively.

These turnout rates exceeded the 2021 figures, when the rates were 30.2 percent, 32.22 percent, and 98.48 percent, respectively.
