HONG KONG – The Hong Kong Monetary Authority and the Dubai Financial Services Authority will co-host the second Joint Climate Finance Conference on Wednesday at the DIFC Conference Centre in Dubai.

As the flagship initiative of their partnership to advance climate finance across the Middle East and Asia, this year’s conference will be held under the theme “Transforming Tomorrow: Harnessing Green Finance for Sustainability”.

The event underscores the shared commitment of Dubai and Hong Kong to shaping the future of global finance through innovation, resilience, and cross-border collaboration.

MotoSurf showdown

This November, for sports clappers, is an absolute non-stop, blood-racing rollercoaster of top-class action.

As the 15th National Games draws to a close on Friday, the sporting world’s spotlight zooms into the three-day 2025 UIM Macao Grand Prix MotoSurf World Championship Finale at the city’s scenic Hac Sa Beach from Friday to Sunday.

Think surfing, but engine-powered. The discipline sees riders shooting across the water on motorized surfboards, fast and loud, and with ultimate core strength, perfect balance, and outlandish technical moves pleasing to the eyes.

The high-octane acts will be paired with vendors’ hawking on the shore at a concurrent coastal cultural festival, which offers visitors mouthwatering street food, warmth-packed family workshops, and other seaside fun activities.

Future of clean cities

The future of clean cities is here – and a spoiler alert, it’s autonomous.

Here rolls into town the 2025 Shenzhen International Artificial Intelligence Sanitation Robot Competition-cum-Application Innovation Competition, stage set befittingly in the first Chinese city to implement unmanned sanitation, Shenzhen, from Wednesday to Saturday at the Shenzhen University of Information Technology.

Concurrently, the Shenzhen International Urban Environment Industry Expo 2025 will be convened at the Shenzhen Convention and Exhibition Center.

It follows a successful 2024 edition, which welcomed teams from over 500 cities, 400 leading companies nationwide, and 6,000 plus academicians and industry pundits from urban management and sanitation departments.

Tech firms’ financial health

Chinese tech giant Alibaba Group will release its unaudited financial results for the third quarter before the United States markets opens on Tuesday.

China Merchants Securities International forecasts the group's year-on-year revenue growth to accelerate to 3.6 percent, driven largely by its instant retail business. Its cloud division and international e-commerce arm are also expected to maintain strong momentum, with projected growth of 26 percent and 19 percent year-on-year, respectively.

Pony AI, China’s leading autonomous driving company, is also scheduled to report its Q3 results on Tuesday. The firm launched its initial public offering on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange on Nov 7, raising approximately HK$6.7 billion ($861.8 million), just a year after its US listing.
