Hong Kong cyclists Lee Sze-wing and Leung Wing-yee on Sunday grabbed the championship title in the women’s Madison event at the 15th
National Games, raising the city’s gold medal tally to six so far.
The victory marks Lee’s second gold at this year’s National Games following her earlier triumph in the women’s road cycling individual event, and Leung’s debut on the podium in the competition.
The Hong Kong Special Administrative Region’s medal count now stands at 11 -- six golds, one silver and four bronzes.

The Hong Kong pair have had a history of successful collaboration and continued to showcase seamless teamwork. They won the game with
a score of 45 points, outperforming the team from Sichuan province which took the silver medal. The Beijing team pocketed the bronze.
Spectators packed the Hong Kong Velodrome in Tseung Kwan O for the event, bursting with excitement and applause.
Lee and Leung are the rising stars of the SAR’s cycling team. Apart from the two golds in this year’s tournament, 24-year-old Lee secured her first road race gold in the 2021 National Games held in Shaanxi province. She will also compete in the Omnium multiple races in track cycling.

Leung, 29, put up a strong performance in the 2025 UCI Road World Championships, ranking 39th in the individual road race -- the
highest-ever ranking achieved by Hong Kong cyclists to date.
Cycling has long been a forte for the Hong Kong team, contributing 10 out of the 11 gold medals won by Hong Kong players in the previous editions of the National Games.
In this year’s tournament, co-hosted by Guangdong and the Hong Kong and Macao SARs for the first time, 25 Hong Kong athletes have been competing in the track cycling, road racing and mountain biking events.
