Financial Leaders’ Investment Summit, FinTech Week x StartmeupHK Festival

HONG KONG – Around 300 global financial leaders, including more than 100 group chairmen or CEOs, will gather in Hong Kong for the Global Financial Leaders’ Investment Summit, set to begin on Monday.  

The three-day flagship financial event of the Hong Kong Monetary Authority, themed “Trekking through Shifting Terrain”, will see financial leaders exploring key trends and developments across the macroeconomic, trade and digital space, and opportunities and risks arising across various financial markets, asset classes and regions.

On the third day, the HKMA, the Securities and Futures Commission, and the Hong Kong Academy of Finance will co-host an investment forum “Conversations with Global Investors”.

FinTech Week x StartmeupHK Festival

The Hong Kong FinTech Week x StartmeupHK Festival 2025, going to take place on Nov 3-4, will showcase 11 themed forums designed to provide a comprehensive overview of the innovation and technology landscape.

A series of community events will also take place throughout the week.

This year marks the 10th anniversary and the convergence of two flagship events, celebrating a decade of innovation and creating an expanded platform dedicated to all facets of technology and business impact.

Macao's living heritage

From Saturday, Macao will present “New Momentum—Cultured Bay Area, Brilliant Intangible Cultural Heritage”, welcoming cultural buffs to a 5-month spree of cultural heritage in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

This immersive showcase brings together over 50 exquisite heritage treasures, from the delicate artistry of Cantonese embroidery to the intricate details of woodcarving and the vibrant hues of colored silk Weaving.

From Saturday to Sunday, master artisans will demonstrate their skills through live craft sessions, hands-on workshops, and a curated heritage market, offering rare opportunities for visitors to witness these time-honored techniques firsthand.

This Macao edition of the showcase of Greater Bay Area’s intangible cultural heritage marks its much-celebrated trilogy across the region, with the displays and activities under the same banner having previously captivated audiences in Hong Kong during October 2024 and Shenzhen earlier this year.

Portuguese culture carnival

A traditional carnival showcasing the Portuguese culture in Macao, running from Oct 31 to Nov 2, offers the public an immersive cultural experience combining song and dance, cuisine, and interactive activities.

Entering its 28th edition, this year’s festival focuses on Angolan culture, and features cultural exhibitors from 10 Portuguese-speaking communities living in Macao, as well as the Macanese community, presenting music, handicrafts, traditional costumes, gastronomy and touristic information.

A temporary restaurant will operate in the Taipa Municipal Garden and Largo do Carmo, serving different specialties from the Portuguese-speaking countries, along with light music performances.
