Shenzhen welcomed 9.2026 million tourists – a 12.4 percent year-on-year increase – during the seven-day National Day holiday, according to the municipal Culture, Radio, Television, Tourism and Sports Bureau.

The city recorded 91,000 inbound foreign tourist visits — a surge of 145.2 percent — and generated 8.94 billion yuan in tourism revenue, up 17.6 percent from the same period last year.

Data compiled from ticketing and travel package orders by online travel agency Ctrip.com revealed the top five attractions: Window of the World (世界之窗), Happy Valley Shenzhen (深圳欢乐谷), Shenzhen Safari Park (深圳野生动物园), Bay Glory Ferris Wheel (湾区之光摩天轮), and Twenty-Four Histories Academy in Gankeng Ancient Town (甘坑古镇二十四史书院).

Meituan Travel, the delivery giant’s travel branch, noted that the newly opened Shenzhen Qianhai Huafa Snow World, billed as the world’s largest indoor ski resort, was particularly popular among the Gen Z youth.

Shenzhen also served as a key entry port for foreign tourists, with inbound visitors rising 50 percent year-on-year from Oct 1 to 6. Visa-free entries skyrocketed by 205 percent during this period.
