Hong Kong travelers crossing the border via Shenzhen Bay Port will be able to access the Shenzhen metro system by the end of this year with the first section of Shenzhen Metro Line 13 beginning operations.
The trial operation of the first section of Line 13 has already been successfully completed, the Shenzhen government said in Shenzhen Fabu (深圳发布), one of its official WeChat accounts.
Designed as a north-south backbone line in central and western Shenzhen, Metro Line 13 will connect Shenzhen Bay Port with the Nanshan, Bao'an, Guangming, and Dongguan districts upon full completion.

The first section will run 6.36 kilometers from Shenzhen Bay Port to the Hi-tech Central Station in Nanshan district, with seven stops along the way. Four of them are interchange stations where passengers can transfer to metro lines 1, 2, 9, and 11.
The line will operate from 6:30 am to 11:00 pm, like other public transportation networks of the city. A 200-meter-long corridor has been built between the border checkpoint and the metro exits, providing all-weather access for cross-border travelers.
