WTT Montpellier Champions winners Lebrun, Odo rise in world rankings

BEIJING - French teenager Felix Lebrun and Japan's Satsuki Odo, respective men's and women's singles winners at the World Table Tennis (WTT) Montpellier Champions which concluded last weekend, saw their rankings elevated in the latest International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) world rankings released on Tuesday.

After capturing his first title in a WTT Champions tournament in his hometown, 18-year-old Lebrun earned 1,000 ranking points, climbing two spots to fifth, behind the Chinese quartet of Wang Chuqin, Lin Shidong, Fan Zhendong, and Liang Jingkun.

Chinese veteran Ma Long, Hugo Calderano of Brazil, Japan's Tomokazu Harimoto, Lin Gaoyuan of China, and Germany's Patrick Franziska occupy positions six to ten.

On the women's side, Odo, who defeated her compatriot Miwa Harimoto in the final in Montpellier, moved up four places to a career-high No. 11.

Chinese paddlers Sun Yingsha, Wang Manyu, Wang Yidi, and Chen Meng hold the top four positions, followed by Japan's Hina Hayata and Harimoto in fifth and sixth, respectively.

China's Chen Xingtong, Japan's Mima Ito, Cheng I-Ching from Chinese Taipei, and South Korea's Shin Yu-bin round out the top ten.
