HONG KONG – The 32nd Macao International Fireworks Display Contest is set to present an extraordinary night show for Macao people during the National Day holiday.

After teams of Canada, Thailand, Russia, France, Spain and the Philippines showcase their works in September, the contest between China and Italy will take place on the evening of Oct 1, while the one between Japan and Portugal will be on Oct 6.

During the National Day holiday, Macao will host a raft of events such as the Macao International Music Festival and the Macau Lantern Festival, aiming to create unforgettable memories for residents and visitors.

Connecting Asia and the West

Fine art lovers and collectors will be able to immerse themselves in a visual feast with the opening of Fine Art Asia 2024 on Oct 4 in Hong Kong.

Exquisite antiques, art and design, as well as Japanese and Chinese crafts, ink art and photography, will be displayed at the four-day fair. A fine art auction will also be held during the event.

The fair is expected to further boost Hong Kong’s status as a global art and cultural hub.

World of films

From Friday to Sunday, a bridge of communication between the upstream, midstream, and downstream sectors of the film industry will be set at the Canton Fair Complex. The Guangzhou Film Expo will have three exhibition areas featuring films, filming technology, and film derivative industries, with the participation of over 200 enterprises from the movie circle.

A pavilion designated for 11 cities in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area will showcase filmmaking resources in the cluster, while overseas film producers will bring their works into the international pavilion.

Public screenings of films will be held in communities across Guangzhou, enabling residents to appreciate films at their doorsteps.

Shenzhen auto show

Automobile industry players will explore business opportunities and car enthusiasts will get a chance to experience the latest developments of the industry in Shenzhen next week, with the Shenzhen International Auto Show opening on Oct 1.

Aimed to inject fresh impetus into the market, the five-day event will feature a series of supporting activities, covering food, fashion and technology.
