An exhibition opened on Monday at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre to mark the 160th anniversary of Sun Yat-sen's birth, highlighting the city's foundational role in shaping the pioneer's revolutionary path.
Running through Saturday, From Revitalizing China to National Rejuvenation — Sun Yat-sen Historical Relics Exhibition honors Sun's enduring legacy, underscoring Hong Kong's pivotal place as both the launchpad of his vision for national renewal.
Through an array of rare historical artifacts and interactive displays, visitors can trace Sun’s formative years — exploring his academic life in Hong Kong and the profound influence the city exerted on his revolutionary ideology.
Organized by Bauhinia Magazine and co-presented by eight leading museums across the Chinese mainland and the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, the exhibition is part of a broader series of commemorative events, including lectures, film screenings, and youth exchange programs.
Born on Nov 12, 1866, Sun is revered across the Chinese world as the great forerunner of China's democratic revolution for his leading role in the 1911 Revolution, which brought an end to over two millennia of imperial feudal rule.
China Daily photographer Andy Chong took the photos at the event's opening on Monday.
