The Hong Kong Special Administrative Region delegation secured three more bronze medals at the 20th Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan, on Saturday in the women’s foil team, men’s saber team, and women’s singles squash events.

Fencing athletes Daphne Chan, Valerie Cheng, Janelle Leung and Sophia Wu clinched the bronze in the women’s foil team event after losing 27-45 to Japan which took the gold.

In the men’s saber team semifinals, Royce Chan, Hugo Ho, Aaron Ho and Leung Tin-ching took the bronze after losing to South Korea.

“Daphne Chan, Valerie Cheng, Janelle Leung, Sophia Wu, Royce Chan, Hugo Ho, Aaron Ho and Leung Tin-ching worked together and fought to the end despite stiff opposition,” Secretary for Culture, Sports and Tourism Rosanna Law Shuk-pui said in a message congratulating the Hong Kong athletes.

“They lived up to expectations and won  two more team medals for the Hong Kong, China delegation in the women’s foil team and men’s saber team events,” she said.

Law also congratulated squash athlete Chan Sin-yuk for her outstanding performance in winning the bronze in the women’s singles event.

The Hong Kong team has so far won 29 medals at the 2026 Asian Games – four golds, eleven silvers and 14 bronzes.
