Macao’s Galaxy Arena transformed into a vibrant tapestry of music and light on Sunday as the Greater Bay Area Film Concert took center stage, echoing the message of unity and the Chinese aspiration for peace.

The Mid-Autumn Festival has long served as a poetic symbol of reunion, harmony, and shared lineage across Chinese communities worldwide. This year's concert, themed "We, One Family", embraced this spirit by showcasing a diverse repertoire that featured nostalgic classics, contemporary hits, and original compositions like Tide and May Peace Embrace the World, along with significant films that highlighted Chinese narratives.

The four-hour gala presented an impressive lineup, with over 130 filmmakers and musicians gathering in Macao, marking a record for artist participation in the event's history. According to Xinhua News Agency, about 25 percent of the artists were from the Taiwan region, forging deep bonds and celebrating shared heritage across Chinese communities.

Wang Pingjiu, the concert's director, said that the event is rooted in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and is evolving into a cultural bridge that aims to spark cultural innovation, deepen cross-Strait ties, and share the Chinese people's cherished values of love, peace and harmony.

Since its 2021 launch, the concert has become a premier cultural brand among Chinese people worldwide, according to the organizers. Co-hosted by the China Movie Channel, the Cultural Affairs Bureau of the Macao Special Administrative Region government, Bauhinia Culture Group, and Phoenix TV, the initiative leverages world-class stage production and cutting-edge technology to set a cultural benchmark that honors deep-seated history while forging new collective memories for future generations.
