
About 1.1 million cross-border trips were recorded as of 9 pm on the first day of the Easter and Qingming holidays, the Hong Kong Immigration Department revealed on Friday.
Departures reached about 770,000, of which about 680,000 were made by Hong Kong residents. Arrivals totaled about 320,000, authorities said.

On Tuesday, the Immigration Department said the SAR expects to see over 6.44 million inbound and outbound passenger trips during the holidays from April 3 to 7.
