Ping An Insurance (Group) Company of China, Ltd said on Wednesday that it has successfully evacuated two employees of a Chinese new-energy drone company from a high-risk region in the Middle East.
The company acted amid heightened tensions triggered by United States and Israeli strikes on Iran and Tehran’s subsequent retaliatory attacks, which left many Chinese nationals stranded in the area.
The Shenzhen-based insurer activated its global emergency rescue mechanism immediately after receiving the evacuation requests on Tuesday, saying it finished deployment in six hours.

The two workers are transiting from the United Arab Emirates back to China via a third country, with three more Chinese enterprises having sought the insurer's evacuation support.
The financial giant said it has so far issued 59 risk warnings and 23 risk analysis reports regarding the Middle East situation. It added that it has responded to 52 inquiries from its clients.
Escalating geopolitical tensions between the US, Israel and Iran have disrupted global supply chains and paralyzed international travel, with many Chinese nationals stranded in the Gulf countries.
In a positive development, two flights from Dubai landed in Guangzhou and Hong Kong, respectively, on Wednesday night, after the Middle Eastern city’s airport gradually resumed operations.
