Hong Kong Chief Executive John Lee Ka-chiu on Thursday presided over the 10th Meeting of the Steering Group on Integration into National Development — a gathering that aims to better align the city’s goals with the nation’s 15th Five-Year Plan (2026-30) across key policy areas.

In a social media post, Lee said that during last week's spring reception, hosted by the Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, he had pledged to lead the HKSAR government in its efforts to proactively align with the 15th Five-Year Plan, and formulate the city’s first five-year development blueprint.

During the steering-group meeting, Lee highlighted the importance of establishing a systematic policy framework to enable more comprehensive, precise, and detailed strategic planning in key areas. This will promote Hong Kong’s deeper integration into, and contribution to the overall national development landscape, he said.
