HONG KONG - Hong Kong's rising tennis player Coleman Wong Chak-lam failed to extend his winning streak at the Hong Kong Tennis Open on Friday, losing to top-seeded world No 7 Lorenzo Musetti of Italy 4-6, 4-6 in the quarterfinal.

Wong, who was ranked 150th in the world, broke his personal record on Thursday by reaching his first-ever ATP Tour quarterfinal following a hard-fought three-set win over Gabriel Diallo of Canada.

Musetti will next face either Andrey Rublev of Russia or Nuno Borges of Portugal for a spot in the final.

Wong, 21, will also be on the same side of the court with Diallo on Friday as they attempt to make the men's doubles semifinals.
