Li urges China-ASEAN joint efforts to fend off external disruptions

KUALA LUMPUR – Chinese Premier Li Qiang on Tuesday urged China and ASEAN countries to unite and strengthen themselves more resolutely, fend off external disruptions, and defend their legitimate rights and interests through mutual reliance and coordinated actions.

Li made the call while addressing the 28th China-ASEAN Summit in Malaysia.

He urged both sides to gather greater synergy and promote steady economic growth through meeting each other's needs and deepening cooperation.

The Chinese premier also called for accelerating the consultations on the Code of Conduct in the South China Sea and striving for an early conclusion.
