BANGKOK - Thai Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul said on Tuesday that over the past several decades, the world has witnessed China's remarkable development, as well as the role China has played in global peace, prosperity, and sustainable development, and the Thai people are proud to have stood alongside China as a trusted friend and partner throughout this time.

Anutin made the remarks while attending a reception in Bangkok hosted by the Chinese Embassy in Thailand to celebrate the 76th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China.

In his speech at the reception, Anutin noted that Thailand and China are as close as one family, with millions of Thai people sharing cultural origins and bloodlines connected with their Chinese ancestors.

"This bond serves as a vital foundation for the friendship between our two countries, deeply rooted in the history, traditions, and values we share," Anutin said.

On behalf of the Thai government and people, Anutin wished China prosperity and hoped that Thailand-China relations continue to develop steadily, prosperously, and sustainably.

Noting that this year marks the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between Thailand and China, Anutin said the two sides have jointly organized a series of celebrations, adding that Thailand is willing to take this opportunity to invite Chinese tourists to visit and Chinese investors to invest in Thailand, and the country is fully prepared to warmly welcome all guests.

Chinese Ambassador to Thailand Zhang Jianwei noted in his speech that China has always prioritized the development of China-Thailand relations in its neighborhood diplomacy and remains a reliable partner for Thailand.

Zhang said the Chinese side is willing to work with all sectors of Thai society to thoroughly implement the important consensus reached by the leaders of both countries, continuously deepen exchanges and cooperation across various fields, actively advance the building of the China-Thailand community with a shared future to achieve more fruitful outcomes, and jointly write a glorious chapter for the next 50 years of China-Thailand relations.
