Several luxury brands have removed advertisements starring Jun Ji-hyun after the South Korean actress insulted China in a TV series.
As of Sunday, brands including Louis Vuitton, Piaget, and La Mer have removed Jun's advertisements from their Sina Weibo accounts.
Jun's recent TV series called Tempest, a spy romance in which Jun and her partner Gang Dong-won work together to uncover the truth about a deadly attack that may threaten the stability of the Korean Peninsula, has been boycotted by Chinese netizens as it contains controversial lines and scenes defaming China.
Born on Oct 30 in Seoul, South Korea, Jun is one of South Korea's top actresses. So far, the producers of the TV series and Jun haven't commented on the inappropriate lines and misrepresentation of the scenes related to China.
