Belt and Road Summit marks a decade in HK

HONG KONG - The 10th Belt and Road Summit kicked off on Wednesday at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre in Wan Chai, drawing over 6,000 representatives from governments, enterprises, and international organizations.
Chief Executive John Lee Ka-chiu announced the signing of nine memorandums of understanding with Belt and Road partners. The agreements cover cooperation on dispute resolution, Customs, and anti-corruption.
Policy discussions addressed emerging opportunities and challenges under current global economic conditions, with speakers highlighting the importance of regional connectivity, sustainable growth, and collaborative frameworks.
Dedicated roundtables also examined green finance, carbon strategies, and innovation, positioning Hong Kong as a platform for advancing sustainable development.
Business plenaries focused on Asia’s growth potential, with particular attention to ASEAN markets and opportunities for cross-border partnerships.
The summit reaffirmed Hong Kong’s function as a platform linking economies along the Belt and Road.
