MOSCOW - Washington canceled the planned Russia-US meeting aimed at eliminating irritants in bilateral relations, Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova said Monday.
"We hope that the pause they took will not be too long," Zakharova said.
The meeting is part of ongoing diplomatic efforts to ease tensions and resolve embassy-related issues, following earlier rounds in Istanbul.

The United States has yet to give a reason for the cancellation.
