MOSCOW - A Moscow court on Tuesday sentenced former Russian Deputy Defense Minister Timur Ivanov to 13 years in prison for embezzlement.
Ivanov was found guilty of embezzling more than 4 billion rubles ($51 million), the court said in a statement.

The court also fined Ivanov 100 million rubles and confiscated property worth 2.5 billion rubles.
Ivanov was detained in April 2024 on suspected bribery charges. He was appointed deputy defense minister in 2016. In this position, he was in charge of organizing property management, troop billeting, housing and medical support for the armed forces, as well as overseeing procurement under the state defense order.
