HONG KONG – The 135th China Import and Export Fair – set to be held in Guangzhou from April 15 to May 5 in a hybrid format – will attract 28,600 enterprises including more than 4,300 first-time participants.
Innovation will be one of the highlights of the trade expo, better known as the Canton Fair. It will feature 315 activities, showcasing new products, new technologies, new craft, and new material in 13 industries.
A 3,000-square-meter cross-border e-commerce and overseas warehousing exhibition area will be set up for the first time.
Road to Olympics
Breathtaking 3-on-3 basketball matches are taking place at Hong Kong’s Victoria Park until Sunday in which eight teams per gender, including the host team Hong Kong, China, will compete for a ticket to the Paris Olympics.
The FIBA 3x3 Universality Olympic Qualifying Tournament 1 also hosts a diverse carnival-style "3x3 Village", with snack booths, sports experiencing zones, and exhibitions on the sidelines of the matches.
The tournament is one of the world's highest-level 3x3 competitions featuring national and regional teams. Compared to traditional 5x5 basketball, 3x3 games have faster transitions and a more intense pace.
CeramBath
Foshan’s reputation as one of China’s largest ceramic bases is set to get a further boost with the 40th China International Ceramic and Bathroom Fair, or CeramBath the city is going to hold from April 18 to 21.
The fourth largest international ceramics and bathroom trade fair in the country, the event comes as Foshan is ramping up efforts to upgrade its ceramics industry and enhance competitiveness after economic slowdown, housing restrictions, stricter environmental requirements, and other factors dealt a blow to the business over the past several years.
Birthday of flowers
A series of activities will mark the “Huachao festival” – also known as the “birthday of all flowers” in Chinese culture – at Guangzhou’s Maling botanical garden on Apr 20-21.
Besides participating in traditional folk games, visitors can try their hands on non-heritage handicrafts on their own. They can also watch and purchase various handmade artwares at a bazaar. They will also be encouraged to share their videos of the event with the organizer for a lucky draw.
