China moves up in FIFA women's rankings

GENEVA - The United States remains on top of the latest FIFA women's rankings released on Thursday, while China is up by one slot.

Despite losing 2-0 to Spain in a friendly on Tuesday, the US still collected the most ranking points, with 2087.48.

Sweden has 2066.3 points to take second place ahead of Germany, with 2064.75 points. England and France remain fourth and fifth respectively.

China has risen one spot to 15th despite not playing any matches in the past two months.

The rankings will be used to determine the seedings for the 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup draw, which will be held on Oct 22 in Auckland, New Zealand.
