HK fencing team clinches gold at FIE Foil World Cup

HONG KONG – Hong Kong fencing athletes won the first and historic gold in the Men's Foil Team event of the FIE Foil World Cup - Hong Kong, China on Saturday.

Cheung Ka-long, Ryan Choi, Leung Chin-yu and Lee Yat-long beat world second-ranked team Italy 45-41 at the AsiaWorld-Expo. South Korea took the bronze.

Secretary for Culture, Sports and Tourism Kevin Yeung Yun-hung congratulated the fencers for their excellent performance during the competition that was held from May 1 to 4.

 “They have won the well-deserved medals, showcasing Hong Kong athletes' perseverance and team spirit,” Yeung said.
