HONG KONG – The Hong Kong Special Administrative Region will implement the principles of complementarity and mutual benefits with Shenzhen to make greater contributions to national development, the city’s leader said on Wednesday.
John Lee Ka-chiu met on Wednesday with Meng Fanli, secretary of the Communist Party of China Shenzhen Municipal Committee, to exchange views on further deepening cooperation between the HKSAR and Shenzhen and promoting the high-quality development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

The governments of the HKSAR and Shenzhen have been making steady progress in various cooperation areas, taking their cooperation to new heights, said the chief executive.

Hong Kong will continue to capitalize on its advantages in basic scientific research, finance, talent and professional services, and internationalization, with a view to playing its crucial role in leading the development of the GBA, he added.
