HONG KONG – Hong Kong Secretary for Education Kevin Yeung Yun-hung said the special administrative region’s government fully supports the nation’s top legislature’s decision to introduce the national security law in the SAR.

He said the new national security law is enacted and implemented in Hong Kong, the Education Bureau will see how to explain it to students.

“One of the follow-ups that they mentioned is about education on national security in Hong Kong. I think this is more than just school education. It is also about education in the whole community, because I believe every citizen also has the responsibility to ensure national security," Yeung said after a radio program on Saturday.

“In schools, of course, when the law is enacted and implemented, we will see how to explain to our students the essence of the law and also the underlying principles to them in our curriculum," Yeung said.
