Global Sources Electronics, the world’s largest electronics sourcing show, will open on April 11 at AsiaWorld-Expo in Hong Kong.

As the flagship trade show of Global Sources (NASDAQ: GSOL), the show will feature more than 6,200 booths of the hottest electronics products from Greater China, South Korea, and five other countries.

The show will include Asia’s biggest VR/AR industry event plus Startup Launchpad exhibitions and conference.

The first phase runs from April 11 to 14 and showcases 3,600 booths of consumer electronics, VR and gaming, components and smart living. The second phase, Mobile Electronics, is scheduled to take place from April 18 to 21 and will present the latest smartphones, tablets, wearables, accessories and mobile VR/AR.

In addition to the extensive exhibits, the show will highlight the industry’s rapidly accelerating innovation and technologies through experience and demo zones, conference programs and Startup Launchpad.

The show is expected to attract more than 60,000 buyers from 150 countries and territories.

They will include purchasing decision makers from household names like Ace Hardware, Best Buy, Carrefour, Casio, Dolby Laboratories, eBay, Foxconn, Fujitsu, Gibson Technology System, Hewlett Packard, Hitachi, LG, Logitech, Microsoft, Nintendo, Olympia, Panasonic, Philips, Qualcomm, Siemens, Telstra, Tomy, Verbatim and Vox Accessories.

In the first phase, the VR and Gaming Experience Zone will let visitors to try the latest VR/AR, 3D and 4D games. A VR Showroom, Windows holographic demonstration, and 9D VR device will present in this zone, as well as VR horse, VR fitness and e-sports gaming facilities. The market for virtual reality technology is expected to be a trillion-dollar industry in the next two decades.

The new e-commerce pavilion will gather exhibitors like cross-border online sellers, suppliers who want to sell to online sellers, service providers like inspection, logistics, and online payment companies, sourcing consultants, digital marketing companies, etc.

This new initiative means the Global Sources shows are not just limited to sourcing actual electronic gadgets and products, but also embracing the age of the booming online business.

Through experience and demo zones, conference programs and Startup Launchpad, the show highlights the industry’s rapidly accelerating innovation and technologies.

In addition to the e-commerce platform, attendants will also see a new Smart Living pavilion, which covers smart security, energy management, entertainment, appliances and gadgets.

Buyers experience the most emerging virtual reality device and inquire about the electronics extravaganza. Attendees this year can also get a closer look at the latest products in multiple Experience Zones.

Other new pavilions will focus on emerging market segments, including commercial electronics, health and wellness products.

An expanded electric personal transporter pavilion will be complemented by a test drive zone and a freestyle performance show.

The Next-Gen Components Zone is set to give buyers a closer look into what is inside the latest drones, robotics and industries, automotive, wearables and smart home security products.

This spring, a series of industry conferences will be held at the show to deliver insights into hot electronics sectors.

Speakers from Audi, Uber, and Mobileye will sit together on the opening day in a seminar to discuss the future of autonomous vehicles, including issues like piloted driving, connected vehicles and the future of transportation.

On the same day, Smart Living Development Conference will bring together experts to share views on industry-related topics, ranging from technology to applications and hardware. Key speakers will be from Microsoft, Huawei and China Smart Home Industry Alliance.

Smart Transporter Industry Conference, scheduled for Apr 12, is to discuss market trends, technologies, future development, quality issues and industry standards.

The new Source2Sell seminars will allow attendees to get sourcing tips from thought leaders and online retail experts.

Also at the upcoming spring shows, Startup Launchpad, the largest collection of hardware startups in Asia, will showcase innovation and facilitate global distribution.

Spanning across both phases of the Electronics show and featuring 200 startups, the pavilions give buyers the chance to be first-to-market with shelf-ready emerging products.

Its conference program covers emerging product trends, with topics including autonomous vehicles, health tech, sports wearables and the Internet of Things.

In order to make the spring shows a great success, organizers have offered value-added services to enhance buyer and supplier efficiency. Tailored apps, for example, are available for buyers and suppliers respectively.

Buyer app will help buyers maximize their visit to the show with a range of pre- and at-show benefits.

The app allows buyers locate exhibitors, create exhibitors’ contact profile and take notes and product pictures. Users will also be able to manage communication with suppliers better and have easier access to their information.

Supplier app enables exhibitors to obtain buyer information, sourcing history and to submit quotations efficiently.

VIP Buyer Offices will provide select buyers with fully-equipped offices for meetings on the spot.

Opening hours for the show are from 9:30 to 18:00  from Apr 11-13 and from 9:30 to 17:00  on Apr 14.
