Chinese business magazine CBNweekly recently ranked the most active 500 Chinese celebrities in the fields of entertainment and sports by their commercial value, crowning Hu Ge, a 34-year-old actor, the most commercially valued celebrity in China.
The ranking, using big data, measured celebrities' commercial value relating to professional competence, endorsement ability, media activism and personality segmentation.
CBNweekly said the "content" that a celebrity can make, which includes professional work, performance on social media and brand marketing stories, is what determines his or her commercial value in the age of mobile internet.
