Hong Kong’s world champion rope skipping team performed on Wednesday at Ngong Ping 360, a tourist attraction on Lautau Island.

It was the first public performance they have given in their home city after winning 79 medals at the biennial World Rope Skipping Championships this year, held in Sweden until Aug 2.

Among the performers are rope skipping world champion Timothy Ho Chu-ting and individual freestyle champion Tommy Chow Wing-lok.

They also taught a group of enthusiastic children skipping skills.

Financial Secretary John Tsang Chun-wah spoke highly of the team. Tsang expects the triumph of the rope skipping team, as well as the visit of the nation's Rio Olympics medalists to Hong Kong this weekend, will kindle residents’ enthusiasm for sports and spread the positive energy.
