Dual Olympic gold medallist Sun Yang of China qualified fastest for the semifinals of the men's 200m freestyle at the Rio Olympic Games on Sunday.
Sun finished his heat in 1 minute 45.75 seconds, three hundredths of a second ahead of Germany's Paul Biedermann and 0.14 sec ahead of third-placed Chad le Clos of South Africa.
Sun took silver in the men's 400m freestyle final on Saturday, finishing just 0.13 sec behind Australian Mack Horton.
The 24-year-old won gold in the 400m freestyle and 1500m freestyle events at the London 2012 Olympics.
