Interpreting classical literature via dance

By chinadailyasia.com

Hong Kong Dance Company (HKDC) is preparing for the new season of experimental dance theater "8/F Platform". This year, HKDC invited famous Taiwanese choreographer Zhang Xiaoxiong to direct a new piece - Retrospection / Perspective. Zhang told China Daily that he was originally invited to give dancers some training of their body via a workshop. But they were so passionate about the dance moves that they decided to produce a show for the audience.

Zhang and the dancers worked together to explore the possibilities of "using the past to serve the present" in the field of dance. In Retrospection / Perspective, dancers interpret classical literature with their physical bodies.

Retrospection / Perspective will meet the audience on July 11, 12 and 13 in Sheung Wan Civic Center.
