Fourth Chinese national among missing passengers in S Korean shipwreck

SEOUL - Fourth Chinese national among missing passengers aboard the ferry ship, the Chinese embassy confirmed.

Earlier today, a Chinese schoolgirl was confirmed among the missing passengers aboard a South Korean ferry ship, which capsized off South Korea's southwest coast.

Two Chinese nationals, one male and the other female, had been confirmed aboard the ill-fated ship from the western port city of Incheon to the southern resort island of Jeju.

Some 26 people, including 12 students, two teachers and three crew members, have been confirmed dead, with 179 people rescued and 271 still missing, an official at the West Sea Coast Guardthe Coast Guard told a press briefing.

The passengers aboard the ship included 325 students and 15 teachers from Danwon High School in Ansan, a Seoul suburb, which, according to the Chinese embassy, is home to a lot of Chinese people.
