Key CPC meeting confirms dismissal of 6 former officials' membership

BEIJING - The fourth plenary session of the 18th Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee on Thursday endorsed prior decisions to revoke the membership of six former officials.

They are Li Dongsheng, Jiang Jiemin, Yang Jinshan, Wang Yongchun, Li Chuncheng and Wan Qingliang.

The previous decision to strip them of their membership were made by the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee.

Three new members filled the vacancies. They are Ma Jiantang, Wang Zuo'an and Mao Wanchun, according to a communique released after the fourth plenary session of the 18th CPC Central Committee.

Ma is chief of the National Bureau of Statistics, and Wang director of the State Administration of Religious Affairs, while Mao is member of the standing committee of the CPC Shaanxi provincial committee.

The three officials replaced Li Dongsheng, former vice minister of public security, Jiang, former head of the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission, and Yang, former deputy commander of the Chengdu Military Area Command of the People's Liberation Army.
