Top political adviser vows support for HK innovators

Top political adviser Yu Zhengsheng on Friday pledged more support for young entrepreneurs from Hong Kong and Macao who wished to chase their business dreams in the China (Guangdong) Pilot Free Trade Zone (FTZ).

Yu, as chairman of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) National Committee, told the opening ceremony of the body’s annual meetings at the Great Hall of the People that the CPPCC would study how to support young innovators .

The FTZ is a poster-child of the country's success in nurturing entrepreneurship and innovation .

The plan to attract entrepreneurs from Hong Kong and Macao who wished to pursue a career or start up a business in the pilot zone is part of a bold move to engage young people in the two special administrative regions.

The fresh approach echoed efforts mYoung entrepreneurs appreciate Zhang’s visitade over several years to boost the image of the Chinese mainland as a “land of opportunity” for young people in the SARs.

The new plan also comes amid encouragement from Hong Kong’s top officials and business figures, who urge the city’s new generation to seize the handsome opportunities the rapid development of the world’s second-largest economy brings them.
