South Korean professor dies after morning jog at CUHK


HONG KONG - A South Korean professor died in hospital after passing out during a morning jog on the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) campus. The professor was from a university in South Korea and came to Hong Kong two days ago for an academic seminar at CUHK, according to the university.

At around 6 am Wednesday, the professor surnamed Lee, 55, was running on the campus circuit north, during which he fell down to the ground and appeared to be unconscious. He was found by a security guard and was sent to the Prince of Wales Hospital.

He was reported to have a previous medical record of heart disease.

The university said it is contacting Lee's family and will provide any possible assistance.

It also will cooperate with the police in the investigation that is still going on, according to CUHK.
