By Kahon Chan / chinadailyasia.com

HONG KONG - More than six persons, on an average, have been treated at public hospitals every day since the occupation protests began on September 28, said Secretary for Food and Health Ko Wing-man on Monday.

Most injuries were minor, Ko told reporters, but there were also more serious injuries. He reiterated that had there been a huge number of casualties resulted from a major incident, there are effective mechanisms in place to dispatch patients to different hospitals.

Ko, who had twice signed anti-occupation petitions, again urged protesters to withdraw as soon as possible amid concerns of violence. Bailiffs, with assistance from police, are set to execute injunctions against blockades near the CITIC Tower at Admiralty in the coming week.
